It's been a minute...

It’s been a while since my last post, November, actually.

If I’m honest, this isn’t the first time I've taken a break… and it probably won’t be the last.

A lot has happened since then.

In December, Paru and I (and Mika) bought our first home together and moved out of London to Bicester, in Oxfordshire. We then spent a few weeks travelling around India, exploring the mountains, visiting friends, eating way too much, and enjoying some winter sun.

By February, I started a brand new role. I’m now an Associate Financial Planner at Phoenix Wealth Management. I look after around 100 clients and manage more than £20 million in assets. It’s been a steep learning curve adjusting to a new firm, understanding their way of working, and getting to know a whole new set of clients. But it’s been great for my development, I’ve had exposure to such a wide mix of real life planning cases across different ages, careers, and goals.

But the break in content wasn’t just because I was busy.

I needed to figure out what I actually wanted to get out of creating content.

When I was focused on the kind of content I should be making, the polished, educational finance tips, I lost interest. I stopped enjoying it. And when I stop enjoying something, I tend to give up.

I'll be honest, I wasn’t even sure it was helping anyone.

I’ve now decided to go back to how I started.

Sharing things that feel real. Talking about the conversations I actually have with clients, friends, and family. About money, mindset, mistakes, decisions, and progress.

No more market roundups (you’ve probably got ChatGPT for that now).

But if you ever want to chat about what’s actually happening in the financial world, or just want a sounding board for your thoughts, I’m here for a chat.

And if there’s a topic you’ve been thinking about, something you wish more people talked about, or something you want a financial planner’s take on, just hit reply. I’d love to hear it.

Thanks for sticking around.

Looking forward to sharing more again.
